Batasia Loop & Toy Train

Batasia Loop is an ingenious spiral railway loop created in 1919 to help the UNESCO World Heritage Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Toy Train negotiate the steep 1,000-foot descent from Ghoom. In the center of the landscaped spiral track lies a pristine garden with vibrant flowering plants and the solemn Gorkha War Memorial honoring brave soldiers.
