Maa Naina Devi Temple

One of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage shrines in Northern India, the Maa Naina Devi Temple stands on the picturesque northern shore (Mallital) of Naini Lake. According to ancient mythological lore, the eye (Nayan) of Goddess Sati fell at this exact location when Lord Shiva performed the celestial Tandava, giving birth to the sacred lake and surrounding town.
