Nainital Mussoorie Tour Packages

Tour Route: Nainital

₹17,799 / person

Tour Overview

Nainital and Mussoorie are two of Uttarakhand’s best-loved hill stations, and they feel very different. Nainital is built around its lake: boat rides, slow walks on the shore and a lively Mall Road in the evening. Mussoorie sits higher and is quieter, with misty ridges, waterfalls and long views of the Himalayas. This plan puts both in one trip, so you get the lake side of Kumaon and the hill side of Garhwal without booking two holidays.

Most nainital mussoorie tour packages squeeze both towns into three or four rushed days. We gave each town two full nights instead, so you have time to walk around, not just step out for photos. Pickup is from Delhi or Kathgodam, hotels are booked and one private cab stays with you till the end.

A nainital mussoorie trip suits many kinds of travellers. Couples enjoy the lake evenings in Nainital and the quiet lanes of Mussoorie. Families get easy sightseeing, short walks and plenty of tea stops. Friends can add kayaking or paragliding at Naukuchiatal. If you travel with parents, the pace is slow enough that nobody feels tired by Day 3. The only thing left to decide is the season: green and warm in summer, cold and clear in winter.

Popular Places & Sightseeing

Here are the main stops on this nainital mussoorie package, with fees where there is one. Fees change from time to time, so treat them as a guide.

  1. Naini Lake: The heart of Nainital. Boating costs about ₹210 to ₹350 per boat, and the evening walk around the lake is free. Go at sunset for the best light.
  2. Naina Devi Temple: A well-known temple on the northern bank of the lake. Entry is free. It is busiest in the evening, so visit early if you prefer a quiet visit.
  3. Snow View Point: At 2,270 metres, this viewpoint looks out to Nanda Devi, Trishul and Nanda Kot. The cable car return ticket is about ₹300 per adult. Mornings are usually the clearest.
  4. Eco Cave Gardens: A network of small caves with animal names, a musical fountain and hanging gardens. Entry is ₹60 for adults and ₹25 for children. Kids tend to enjoy this stop the most.
  5. Bhimtal & Island Aquarium: A wide, quiet lake with an aquarium on a small island in the middle. Boating is ₹150 to ₹250 and the aquarium ticket is ₹60.
  6. Kempty Falls: A popular waterfall about 15 km from Mussoorie town. It gets crowded by midday, so go early.
  7. Gun Hill: Take the cable car up from Mall Road for a wide view of the town and the snow peaks on clear days.
  8. Lal Tibba: The highest point in Mussoorie, in the quiet Landour area. It is windy, so carry a jacket.
  9. Camel’s Back Road: An easy 3 km walk with a rock shaped like a camel’s hump. Good for a relaxed evening stroll.

Travel tips before you go
  • Best time: A nainital mussoorie trip is most pleasant from March to June. October and November bring clear mountain views. December to February is cold and can bring snow to Mussoorie. July to September brings rain, and wet roads can slow down the Day 3 drive.
  • Clothes: For a mussoorie nainital tour in winter, pack thermals, a heavy jacket, gloves and a cap. In summer, light woollens are enough for the evenings.
  • Booking: For a nainital mussoorie trip in May, June or around Christmas, book three to four weeks ahead. Hotels fill up fast in these months.
  • Day 3 drive: Start early, and carry water and a motion sickness tablet if anyone gets car sick.
  • Cash: Keep some cash for boat rides, cable car tickets and small shops.
Quick answers

How many days are enough for a mussoorie nainital tour?
Five days is a comfortable minimum. You get two nights in each town and one day for the drive. With fewer days, you spend most of the trip inside the cab.

Is this nainital and mussoorie tour package fine for senior citizens?
Yes. Most points are close to the road, and cable cars take care of the steepest climbs. Tell us before booking if anyone has knee or breathing trouble, and we will check the hotel for a lift or a ground-floor room.

Will it snow?
Mussoorie can get light snow between December and February, and Nainital sees it now and then in January. Snow is never guaranteed, so do not book the trip only for it.

Should I choose Delhi or Kathgodam pickup?
If you can get a train to Kathgodam, it saves about 5 to 6 hours on the road on Day 1. Delhi pickup works well if you want to start from your doorstep.

Not sure how many days to keep for the hills? A simple rule is two nights in each town, so you never spend the whole day inside a car. If you want to see more of the state, browse our Uttarakhand tour packages for other mountain and forest trips. If you only have a long weekend, a Nainital tour package works well as a short lake break with no long transfers. Whatever you pick, send us your dates and group size on WhatsApp. We will match hotels and the cab to your budget, and you can change anything in these Nainital Mussoorie tour packages before you confirm.

We pick you up early in the morning from Delhi, or later from Kathgodam station. The Delhi drive takes around 7 hours with a tea break, and the last stretch is a winding climb through pine forest. If you come by train to Kathgodam, the drive up takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Check in, rest a little, then walk down to Naini Lake for a boat ride as the evening lights come on. Visit Naina Devi Temple and end the day on Mall Road with hot momos and tea.

Start with the cable car ride to Snow View Point. On a clear morning you can see Nanda Devi, Trishul and Nanda Kot from here. Next stop is Eco Cave Gardens, a fun walk through caves shaped like animals. After lunch, drive to Bhimtal for the island aquarium, then to Naukuchiatal, the lake of nine corners, where you can try kayaking or paragliding. If time allows, we also stop at Sattal. You are back in Nainital by evening, with time to shop for woollens and candles on Mall Road.
D3
Day 3: Nainital to Mussoorie
Meals: Breakfast and dinner Stay: Mussoorie
After an early breakfast, you leave for Mussoorie. The drive is about 8 to 9 hours with breaks, so keep snacks and water handy. The road runs through the plains before the final climb into the hills. We stop for lunch on the way, and you reach Mussoorie by late afternoon. Check in, have a hot cup of tea and take a slow walk on Mall Road when the town lights up.
D4
Day 4: Mussoorie Sightseeing
Meals: Breakfast and dinner Stay: Mussoorie
Head to Kempty Falls early, before the crowds arrive. Then ride the cable car to Gun Hill for a wide view of the town and the Himalayan peaks. In the afternoon, visit Lal Tibba, the highest point in Mussoorie, and take an easy walk on Camel’s Back Road. If you still have energy in the evening, stroll through Landour, where the lanes are narrow and quiet and small cafés serve simple food. Nights here are cool, so a jacket is useful even in summer.
