Madhuri Lake (Sangetsar Tso)

Sangetsar Tso, popularly celebrated as Madhuri Lake after the Bollywood movie Koyla was filmed here, is a stunning glacial lake tucked at 12,000 feet near the Indo-China border. Formed naturally after an earthquake in 1950, dead tree trunks still emerge dramatically from the crystal-clear waters. Surrounded by snow-dusted mountains and alpine meadows, visitors can enjoy warm tea and momos at the army-run cafeteria.
